hey guys, i've been lurking around nico for a couple of months now, gathering info, reading topics, and whatever.

anyway, i bought my 1989 240sx Fastback SE from a friend of mine for 800 bucks, i came from a 2003 Mitsu Eclipse that i bought new, and i love the 240 more and more every day (that it runs).

http://members.cardomain.com/dafydd is where i have some pics of my car, go easy on me, a lot of the crappiness came with it, lol.

anyway, i'm planning on going back to school in the fall to get my automotive tech degree and begin modding my 240.

my biggest planned two mods are an SR20DET Redtop Swap and aTein Coilover Suspension then i want to get into SCCA Solo Racing. Just wanted to introduce myself.

so... yo.

If by SOLO racing you mean autocross, I'd go ahead and jump into that with no delay, why wait for the engine?

It's always best to get the car out and drive it hard before deciding on what you're going to do to it.

Welcome to NICO :-D

That's good advice but I started working on my car between autocross seasons and couldn't hold out long enough to wait for it to start to mod my car. Starts next weekend though. Can't wait to go, I'm predicting I hit 90% of the cones.

Welcome aboard and enjoy post whoring now that you're done lurking

Great advice!

I would mod the suspension first with some aftermarket struts and springs, then drive it all crazy and decide what you want. Suspension should always be first.

(But little mods dont really hurt at all...)

yeah, i would just jump into autocross right now, but the events are few and far between around here... not to mention my stock suspension set up it shot to hell and back.

the engine is stout, but not without its fair share of problems. and i need a good seat, seat sliders, and seatbelts or else scca won't even let me near an event... so yeah.

so basically, the car is good for trips back and forth to my friend's place. i gotta wait till i get some loans from school back to repair it. i'm thinking of trying to buy one in slightly better condition this summer tho. we'll see!
