I've got a long drive home tomorrow, about 7 hours from Tampa to Atlanta. I spend most of my week on the road, so I've listened to all my cd's multiple times. I'm about to burn a new cd for the drive home. What are some good songs out right now? I'm not looking for the common radio songs, but more for good songs they don't play on the radio. Preferably no rap/hip-hop, since there's no good rap out right now, aside from Outkasts. I've got nothing so far...any help would be appreciated.

Go with some old school Beastie Boys. Licensed to Ill or Ill Communication, it really doesn't matter, it's all good driving music. I also really like a band called The Music. Enjoy your drive.

how could i forget??? indeed. the newer stuff is ok, but not for driving, more or less pissing people off around you in traffic cause its so in your face. the older stuff, like Naive, Xtort, UAIOE, and that burnt orange album (forgot the name). also, his other stuffis good. excessive force is good.

I have Nihil, Xtort, Angst, Symbols (not the real name, but for lack of the proper pictures), ATTAK, MDFMK, and another one I can't seem to remember - maybe Naive, and a bunch of singles. Also, though not Sascha's work, I have Tim Skold's cd and some of Lucia's songs. I'm not too impressed by their newest stuff...and you're right, it's not really driving music.

i really like Skolds stuff (can we say that???), i have a few songs burned and they're great. Rammstein isnt too bad for driving, and VNV nation rocks. also some clan of Xymox, Front Line Assembly, Projekt Pitchfork, and some Juno Reactor.

The Kill Bill 2 soundtrack is good stuff. BB King & Eric Clapton - Riding with the King. Black Eyed Peas are ok. Some Run DMC wouldn't hurt. Johnny Cash too.

For talk radio, I usually listen to NPR. For comedy, rush limbaugh or neil boortz (sp). As for the meth comment, the problem isn't falling asleep...I drive 7+ hours almost every monday and friday. The problem is boredom, and getting tired of my same old cds.

Umm... since I assume it'll be highway, you want something rhythmic that's fun to listen to, but something that doesn't make you want to be a speed demon. Chemical Brothers is always a good choice. I'm ever an Incubus fan, but that may not work for you. Paul Oakenfold is a great choice. If I could ever manage to actually get my music recorded and mixed properly, I'd suggest myself (because that's the American way!), but for one, that's not currently the case, and for another, you may not be an Alternative fan.I gotta agree on the classic rock thing too. The Eagles, anyone? How about Tom Petty?

classic rock sounds good. I have a lot of oakenfold, but it puts me to sleep on the highway. I'm not an incubus fan at all.
