long cranking start up

bought a 93 2+2. since getting car wont start unless gas pedal is fully depreesed.. even when fully depressed it takes a long time to crank. any suggestion.

i have a 93 2plus2 with 101199 miles. car will start but takes a awhile to start and the pedal has to be fully depressed in order for it to start. found radio harness was cut wondering if this has ne thing to do withit. also lighting issues. i am a nissan fan had a 96 modded maxima which jus died. i was palnning a vh45dett swap but i am forced to jus drive as is so can ne one help. at least with harrd start??????

check compression n codes sounds like fuel though....

Welcome.

Depressing the gas pedal does nothing on a fuel injected car.

Check your battery voltage, then check the health of your starter. I suspect the starter in this case.

Does it start with a puff of black smoke? If so its injector issue of some sort.

Sorry to provide conflict but flooring the gas during cranking on a fuel injected car reduces or discontinues injector pulse to introduce a "clear flood mode"

Can you confirm that with Datascan or the like? You're saying if you floor it while cranking, injector duty cycle goes to 0% to clean out the cylinders of any fuel flooding?

@ biggtdogg i look at all the other post and there was no answers. i started a new one.also i measured the voltage and only has 5 volts....? i though i was suppose to have 12 volts to the pump...? any advice

You can reply to the original post to move it to the top of the forum, to get more visibility.

Measured the voltage where? At the battery? At the battery with the car off you should have around 13.2VDC. With it running you should be around 14.4VDC.

FSM = Factory Service Manual. It has a whole section on troubleshooting certain problems and I'm fairly positive what you've got is in there.
