Hi, I have been registered on the 240sx.org for like 2 years now, and barely ever say anything on here. Whenever I have a question about something i can usually find the answer by searching and reading other peoples' posts. Also, i dont feel i know enough about cars etc.. to respond, and i dont wanna give people the wrong information. I love this site and it has definitly come along way since i first started coming here. I guess I just feel guilty because it has done so much for me, and i give nothing back. I am going to try to get more involved i think. Here is a good story

It all began when I was a young lad around the age of 10 or so. My aunt used to babysit me, and she had the coolest car ever (84 300 zx). It even talked! I knew that was the car that i wanted when i was old enough to drive. Skip ahead to my high school years where i learned to drive on my moms 91 240sx. It was an ok car but i didnt really like it that much (lets face it there is nothing very fancy about a stock s13 with no options, i think the plastic hub caps was what really turned me off). A year or so after having to borrow mom's 240 I got a job and bought my 86 300zx. I looked at a few, but this one was seriously in mint condition. My Z had 190000 miles on it, but it looked and drove like it was brand new. While all my friends had Taurus SHOs, Thunderbirds, and Monte Carlos, i was loving the Z. I even kept up with my friends camaro with a 350 in a race once. After driving the Z for about a year or so i started to smell a gas odor whenever myy heat was on. I fondly referred to this as my "interior exhaust," but never thought too much of it since the previous owner told me the fuel injector recall had been taken care of long ago. Long story short, she caught on fire and i got basically nothing from the insurance company. If i had known what i know now i would have gotten a maxima engine at the junk yard or something but i was young and stupid. The next 6 months or so were the worst 6 months of my life. I thought it would be a good idea to buy a cheap firebird. It wasnt! fortunately my mom decided she wanted to get a new car. I think they were gonna give her like 1500 for a tade in so she gave me her 240 and bought her new car, and i sold the firebird and gave her the cash. Of course I talked her into a 2000 Maxima. I was not too thrilled about the 240 at first but it was much better than the firebird that for sure. Actually drivin it kinda reminded me of my Z. A few years later, a set of enkei 17 inch rims, and eibach sportlines and kyb shocks and struts, and help from this site has made me love my car more than the old Z. it handles unbelievably, has a much more contemporary look than the older Z, and is an all around cool car. it is still very classy in a world of hondas and other rice machines. The potential for more power is obviously there (sr swap etc.) and the best is when people say what kinda car is that?? is it fast?? though that hasnt happened so much lately with the growing popularity of the 240. I will post some pics soon i hope.
