I had a flat on Tuesday and finally put on the new Continental SportContact 245/45/18 ZR 96W

I had to be careful, since thy are a little bigger than the old tires. I passed a state trooper, but he was only going about 70 9by my speedometer).

You can see the fresh paint on the bumper as well.

That paintless dent remover is amazing! The car is smooth as glass.

Those wheels and tires look perfect. Which BBS are those?

NEVERMIND: I see they are ASA now. Are they really a two piece? How much do they weigh?

The I30 pictures had me going weird for a minute.

The guy who painted my front bumper, has a guy that removes door dings without bodywork. I have been skeptical, until our secretary had severe hail damage removed from her Cavalier. It const her $1,500.00 The car looked like it had been repainted, it was so smooth.

I had about 12 good door dings, and the guy removed them for $110.00

The ASA wheels look like a 2-piece, but are not. They are relatively light. Not sure the actual weight, but they are current Tirerack items. I am not real happy with the clearcoat peeling, but the wheels look great. I got a Mothers Power Wheel, and hope to improve both Lola and Layla's wheels.

Thanks for the props on the Q's. It is not cheap, keeping 2 Q45's running, but it is fun driving them. THey are so different in handling, acceleration, braking, and just overall feel.

Layla is so twichy. The steering is much lighter, and with the DOT4, SS lines, and drilled/slotted rotors, she stops much faster and with a much lighter pedal.

Lola will get the Z32 brakes later this year, with DOT4, SS Lines, and beeeautiful drilled & slotted rotors. Then she will stop just as well. Maybe I can get her refitted before Atlanta.

Layla is going into the paint shop soon. I want her pretty for Atlanta, in case I get a second driver. I still haven't decided which Q I will be driving. I wish Greg would fly into B'ham, and drive Lola, then I could have both at the show. That woudl be cool!

Hey Rob, I think I would have to trade both, for your one.

That is an excellent price. When I got my '94 I had all the dents on the car removed, plus both bumpers painted, the rear bumper gouge repaired, pinor paint touch ups, windshield dings filled, and complete detailing for $700. And I thought I did pretty well.

And as your car shows the results are impressive.

What's different about the steering?

Layla has standard steering ,and is an early 1994, with the 1993 rack, I believe. The new tension rods and FSTB make the steering much lighter. The tires are a 255/45 on an 8" rim, with a lot of sidewall to deflect in cornering.

Lola has Super HICAS, wiht the rear steering, and a different ps pump, with more firm steering. I did make the toe-in neutral, and the steering is a little bit lighter now, but it seems that the touring package or HICAS made the steering more firm. Going from a 40 to a 45 series tire made a difference on Lola as well. She has a little more sidewall like her sister, now.

The cars have completely different belts and pulleys on the front of the engines. I can't keep common stock parts.

Thanks for all the compliments, it helps justify the expenditures.

Do you notice any difference going from 245/40 - 245/45?

Night & Day.

The 245/40's were very stiff, and the 245/45's ride very well.

The steering is a little lighter now. I can feel the tires roll in cornering, where with the 245/40 there was virtually no tire roll.

I have to be more careful with my speeds, now. I can't set the cruise on 78 and drive. I need to set it on about 75 now.

I prefer the 245/45 ride.

I just have to get used to this neutral setting on the toe-in now. I had them set it complete neutral, to help inside tire wear.

Yeah, some people hate it (the 'wandery' feeling) but I like it - once you get used to a car aligned that way you never want to go back because of the lightning fast turn-in.

I need an alignment big time... Im going to have them just slightly toe it in so it will still track good... less than 1 degree toe in, basically jsut enough to be considered to have negatve toe

Jeff, did you have them check the rear toe, you know with the HICAS you can adjust the rear toe easily...

Yeah, they set the rear at zero, too.

Love your new wheels and suspension pieces. Dude, paint those calipers!

Now you can spend thousands, tuning the suspension to your liking By the time you like the settings, the tires will be shot.

I will be ready when the tires are gone... Ill put some really sticky tires on then....

Thanks for the compliments Jeff... I will try and paint the calipers before NOPI... Im going to try and go a few weeks without doing anything to the suspension...
