FINALLY! No more slush box for me! It took over a month of gathering the parts, but my girl is sitting in the garage with a 5-speed transmission!

BTW Mods, this is NOT a for sale thread.

Congrats! How do you like the results?

We've had a few successful 5-spd conversions done recently. Nice work!

It feels soooooooo much better! All in all, worth every penny and every ounce of frustration that went into it. The engine even sounds different - not in a bad way, but sounds like a caged bird that has just been let free and now she's singing her heart out.

There is one minor thing though. When I go above 3300rpm, it makes this almost grinding noise for a bit, then around 3600 or so it goes away. Anyone have a clue what that's all about? I'm not having any problems shifting or anything and the top and reverse lights work perfectly.

Its for the clutch not the trans. I always recommend getting the transmission cracked open and inspected by some one who works on manual transmissions if it is used. It set me back $80 but i knew the syncros and gears are good.

Oh duh! I feel like a moron now... thanks! =D

I got the trans looked at by a buddy of mine who works as a Nissan mechanic, so I am good there.
