We demand an update! How are you healing? How's the physical therapy going? Is your Mom driving you around in the new vert?

Who's "we"?

I guess I'm alright. I can't walk without a crutch, but I occasionally hobble around for short distances all on my own. The surgery healed up pretty nicely, with no troubles. Went from this:

Graphic! My leg around 4 days after surgery

To this:

To this:

Knee is a bit swollen but I have a good range of motion compared to a month ago. Gave up the leg brace five or six weeks ago.

Therapy never happened. There was a bunch of insurance mix ups so I ended up not going after rehab. I'm also getting check up x-rays once a month. Here's how it was last September:

Crappy cell phone pic, I know, but they won't give me a disc of all my x-rays because of some bureaucracy .

So yeah, I'm getting there. I've only really driven the vert once cause a clutch is still uncomfortable to operate (not to mention I spin my wheels whenever I take off). And I want my mom NO WHERE near my car. She scares the unholy **** out of me when she just drives the Jeep.

ANYWAYS. You still want those 1/4 panels Ish? They aren't 100%. I got two pics of the damage, and the inserts popped off the staples. I think if I popped out the staples and put down a bit of dum-dum it'd be good as new, though.

Scratch, not crack

Seems like common vert damage to me. Both of these are on the driver's side BTW.

Oh, and email me your mailing address Ish! And thanks for askin!

there should be a warning before that first pic - that's pretty nasty, man.

wow, good to see the progress though. screw physical therapy. just do work yourself. make sure you keep moving stuff and making sure things don't get stiff.

wow, that must have been one hellish break!

is that titanium?! tell them you're keeping that when it comes out.

I don't think those pins are coming out! And it looks like the same staple gun that mbartel used on vert top.

Glad to hear you're doing better. Like everyone here has said, keep exercising to keep your range of motion. Do as much as you can now - you'll be glad you did later.

Hope to see you on the road soon.

Yeah, it's titanium, which kind of disappointed me, because I couldn't put fridge magnets on my leg

And it's never coming out unless there's some complication later on in life. If, God forbid, there is, I'll be sure to keep it. Hell, I still have my staples rattling around in a box somewhere.

"we" = the vert forum!

Like the other guys said, keep moving around whenever you can. Keep improving. Sorry to hear about the bureaucracy. U.S. has the best health care system in the world... yeah, right.

Geez, that is a lot of screws. You're right, it did heal nicely considering everything.

I'll email ya about the panel.

Eh, I don't really mind how it turned out. The PT in Rehab was the most depressing thing I've ever been through and I was praying to be let out. Besides, there's not much PT would do for me that plain old walking wouldn't.

And I'm perfectly fine with the US healthcare system! They got me out of medical bill that just recently surpassed $100,000. And ya know what's creepy as hell? The swelling is going down and I can feel that big *** plate in my leg now

Well, I know the thread is dead but this is the only place where this really belongs. I found out from my lawyer today that the kid that hit me has been arrested and will be prosecuted for DUI Involving Serious Bodily Injury by the end of this month. Also found out his blood alcohol level, which I've wanted to know for ages. Anyone want to take a guess? :p

It took that long for him to be arrested?

2.0 he'd be super dead.

Guessing .14 and assuming that PA is .08 as well.

dang, glad to hear things are improving. That guy deserves 10x what ever the judgement is. As for the BAL.....probably the maximum any human can withstand without dieing....what is it like 3.0 or higher and you should be dead?

Legal limit is .08 in every state, and the most you can sustain before dying or going into a coma is about .45. This guy, 21 years old with a previous accident (into a tree) for drunk driving, scored a .24 What I can't imagine is how a bar let's you walk out and drive home when you're three times the legal limit.

I sure hope that he is going to have to pay for it in the end and you get a big refund. lol. Thats what happend to my mom, they made her pay for everything until they were done, then the other lady's insurance had to pay my mom back.

That is sooooooo F'd up, he was the one that hit you... IMO he should have went to jail a long time ago... unless he did and someone bailed his dumbass out. I hope he doesnt get away with a little slap on the wrist this time, he obviously didnt learn his lesson the last time...
