Is it really necessary?I mean it is a new car, and my car is going to be one of handfull of3.5SEs with manual transmission on the east coast, ( or so the dealership claims)...

Do people put LoJacks on Nissan's, i mean it is a hot car but this isnt a BMW or Benz.

What yall thinkOne of the pros is it will pay for itself with the discount on my insurance

I did, as well as an alarm. Same thing with My Yamaha R1, alarm and LoJack... I don't want anyone touching my toys

Eh... I didn't/wouldn't. That's what insurance is for.

Really, if someone steals my car, they better do it right and not get caught because I don't want it back.

Good idea but lets face it, if the thieves want it that bad, they'll get it.

Good point. I probably wouldn't want it back after the thieves have had it; who knows what they could've done to it...

yes, my agent told me it would give you some discount on the Comprehensive part or collision part of your insurance which didn't turn out to be a lot

well there are pros and cons to any anti-theft system, bottom line with lo-jack is you have to notify the police asap, b/c say they steal the car to chop it,... if the system has been located in the car, before it's been activated, then it's possible that it wont work, or it could have been tossed by the time the cops find the system, as long as you notify the police in time then it is very effective... on the other hand, as is with any case, if they are really good, if someone really knows what they're doing and they know what to look for, they'll figure out a way to get what they want from your car... Over all, I do know that lo-jack has the biggest rate cut on your insurance as far as any anti-theft system out there b/c of how effective and accurate it is, and how high the recovery rate is with it.... in the end it's how much you are willing to pay to protect your ride, and keep it "safe"... good luck

Well it did reduce my insurance by a drastic amount so it kind of is paying for itself in the longrunBut i cant help but thinking to myself, this aint no benz... its a Nissan, do people really put lojack on nissans... I was thinkin I shoulda put that money toward monthly garage fees.. Its more convenient cause I wont have to look for parking on the street and it is right in my complex with a attendant and everything

did it deter him from trying to steal the car if he knew it had a GPS on it?

I say no go on a lowjack... odds are if they are gonna rob my ride, it will be for the stuff inside, not the actual car... I also had my last car chopped per my instructions and needless to say i am familiar with how the snatch/chop game works and how it screws us... Id say a LO-JACK sticker on the outside will deter someone enough... or a high sensitivity chirp when f-ed with...

Nissan or not, pay $30k+ on a car gives makes me want to take every precaution towards getting my car back if it's stollen. Granted the rims and good stuff would be ripped off, the car is much harder to replace when issurance covers the stolen items. As long as they don't trash the car

insurance discount depends on the area... if you are in a high-theft area it will discount more... if you are in a ritzy hood, it will be less... no one is jacking altima's in 90210

I live in Brooklyn New York... and my zip code has one of the highest stolen car rates in NYC... i think only Newark NJ and Jersey City has higher than us... in fact i had my acura integra stolen, so thats why LoJack lowered my insurance more than significantly
