Hey guys, I was curious about your experiences with this wheel and some of the games out there. I mainly use the wheel for GT4 on PS2 and a little gt5P on a friends ps3 and it everything feels great, responsive, good wheel weight, solid force feedback and most importantly 720 degrees lock to lock. But when I play anything on the pc, Rfactor, LFS, or GRID, the wheel only seems to be 180 Degrees, regardless of which computer i use, or any of the settings, in game, or in the logitech control panel. not to mention, sluggish response, awkward feel thats either too light, or too strong with non-linear feel to it. all the computers are new, in good working order, and have either xp, or vista.

weird issue i've been wanting to buy that wheel since i got GT4, just never had the money. its odd that it works just fine between consoles with full 900 degree support, but the pc only allows 180 degress... maybe it needs a driver update or something?

The wheel absolutely kicks **s on consoles. gt4 only supports sequential shift mode, but the feel of the wheel is ridiculously close to the real deal. gt5 allows the clutch pedal and H shift pattern, with the incar view, it's pretty extreme. It was hard to justify the money, but i bought it during the winter when I had decided one gaming wheel is cheaper than a set of allweather tires, or crashing my car into everything.

how sutrdy are the pedals? it would seem that the clutch would take quite a but of abuse... seeing as in a real car the clutch is pressed pretty hard. I would think that if you were really into it and went for a fast shift you could snap the pedal right off...

good point. is it a solid wheel? i've played on the gt model before they came out with the 900 degree lock to lock system, and it was pretty amazing as far as i could tell, but the newer wheel and pedal, plus that awesome 6 speed is pretty much cool as hell. been wanting to play on it ever since i laid eyes on it

I saw one in the store the other day and the pedals appeared to be made of a metal, probally not alluminium but it should be more than strong enough.

the wheel is made of metal and plastic bits, and is supremely strong, including the metal flappy paddle gearbox levers which feel nicer than alot of the ones found in carsa on the road.

the pedal feel is great, with different springs for different pedal feel. the clutch is a little softer than your average hydraulic clutch on a car, but has a great clutch feel to it due to the spring used.

when the shifter is in sequential mode it feels great, very solid

when the shifter is in traditional shift mode, its a little cheezy, light, plasticy. its one of very few wheels have an h-pattern 6speed shifters. its still a lot of fun in this mode, but is the weak point of the wheel.

the six speed mode with clutch is only supported on ps3 games/ pc gamesI cant find any games for ps2 that support h pattern shifting with the clutch

the pc games seem to get the clutch pedal pretty spot on, but I have not had anyluck with the wheel itself on pc games. LFS seemed to work almost ok, but was not even comparable to the console games.

Probably needs to be calibrated. There is an option in the control panel to calibrate controllers.

I wish wheels with clutches were cheaper. I'd like to be able to go full manual mode in Rigs of Rods. Kind of dumb to pay hundreds of dollars for a wheel to play a free game with, though...

Yah, I'm pretty sure it needs to be calibrated.

And the durability? Me and my friend have been playing on his for about 2 years maybe, and it's holding up fine. It's taken some beating too, the wheel's been slammed plenty of times from turning it too much. Pretty damn realistic i'd say.

Talking about all this reminds me of that good ol Ferrari Challenge game, where in expert mode you actually had a full blown clutch and a real 6spd shift gate.

Even had the 3 screens which made everything surreal..has anyone ever played it before?

Was just playing 355 challenge this weekend!! that game is solid, except that the wheel is only 180 degrees lock to lock. Suzuka Circuit Long is a beast. Roling on the power on degner with the tail out, looking at the screen on the left, total hoot.

If it is a computer game, it may likely support multiple inputs... If so and you already have a wheel ebay a really really cheap second, set the pedals next to your current ones, then plug in both wheels using the pedals from the second one as clutch and e-brake.... this is what i do for LFS

Is there a physical stop, or is it only using 180 degrees of input? If you are using Logitech own drivers... stop it. Those ****ing suck and have NEVER worked for me... Unistall and download http://www.wingmanteam.com/Run that and click options-> Global device settings.

Set the overall spring force to just over 100%. When below 100% the wheel decreases the feedback when your close to the center to keep it from bouncing from one side of the center to the other.Turn the rest to zero, then set rotation to 720.

If that doesn't work it may be something similar to the DFP where you can swith between 180 and 900 degree mode with a combination of button presses...

Either way if you are not using the wingman drivers do that.
