Locking Noises and Auto Start Failures

Hey Folks,

When i purchased my rogue in 2013 I had the dealer fit an after market auto-start feature Python (7754P) and all worked well until recently.
It is locking/unlocking the car but it is now failing to start with an error for "Hood Open" and I think it all ties back to how it was installed but I need some expert help.

Since I have never known anything else if I locked my car it would beep twice, pause for a second or two and then beep again to which I assumed that this was the lock and the immobilizer being activated but now I am not too sure and I think the install was done incorrectly hence the failures I am now seeing.

I have checked driver manuals and online and have ran into a brick wall with trying to confirm but does anyone know if the locking noises above highlight another underlying problem with the car that could be stopping the auto-start features.

I should point out that the car does start if I turn the ignition switch so it doesn't look like there is any central warning/alert that would disable the car but again I am unsure if this is a feature of the drive mode to allow for a usable vehicle to say bring to a dealership to get fix.
