Just wondering what the locking noise is after you shut off the car and open the door. Is it the ignition locking?

Also, kinda interesting that the car beeps sometimes like the key is still in the ignition, even though we know that's not possible.

I think the little reminder chirp is cute. If the ignition is on and you walk away from the car and the key is in your pocket. Its like saying "nooo come back!!" LOL

Something i wanted to ask. Not sure if premium/non premium, tech/non tech is any different. Most new cars with standard ignition switches, continue to supply power to the windows, radio, and a few other functions when the key is switched off, and the door is not opened yet.

I have the 3.5 with premium + tech, and as soon as i shut the ignition off the radio shuts off. I honestly can't say i've tried the windows before opening the door to see if they have power.

Turn on the ignition without starting the engine by pushing the start button without depressing the brake pedal.

Yeah i know how to turn the ignition to acc and then on. My comment was for when turning the vehicle off from a running state. A lot of keyed ignition vehicles retain stereo power until the door is opened. I tried the windows this morning. After cycling the engine off, the moonroof and windows still have power but the radio switches off. Not a big deal, just pointing it out.

Yeah, my dad's GMC does that...

If you'd like the radio to stay on, but want to turn off the engine...just press the ignition button twice...and it'll turn off the engine and put the ignition to ACC.

I think it locks the ignition...either that or it locks the steering wheel(?)... but when you turn off the car and open your door...watch the indicator around the ignition button and the "lock" will light up.

I figured out the chirping noise (with the help of my co-worker who also has an Altima Coupe).

If you open the door, and THEN turn off the car, it will chirp.

If you turn off the car, and THEN open the door, it won't chirp.
