Okay, on the stock OEM rims with the locking hubs (not the pie pans) its been a pain getting them off all this time, i've been using one of those star bits to turn them but i always seem to lose or misplace them. Is there some sort of wrench or tool that any of you use or a replacemtent part that IOS carries? i did some research and was onyl able to find a "wheel cap wrench" which is definately not the correct tool.

Your wheels are not factory OEM, but aftermarket wheels probably installed at the Infinit dealer before it sold to its very first owner{ this was common practice at infiniti dealers in 1990-1993 because they thought the factory standard wheels were ugly and hindered the sale of the Q, along with many getting wood trim on the dashboard......anything to make the plain jane looking Q more like the better selling fancier looking ls400 of the day and adding profit to the deal......almost every single 1990-93 Q at my dealer had both of these dealer add ons performed before they were put in the show-room, along with other added crap like pinstripes, wheel locks, and useless paint/fabric protection packages......total adding 3-4 thousand to the sticker price of the car{ 10% at that time}

Well, i have seen a few on nico as well as a 1990 black Q sitting in the junkyard up my way with the same rims. they also have the infiniti logo inside the hub center. Its printed on a circular badge which looks to be about 3.5x3.5 inches or so. They seem stock and have seen them on different Q's from year to year. From the appearance they are stock. Also, if the dealer sells a cap wrench for them i think they must be the stock rims for the car....

almost all dealers sold those exact aftermarket wheels.......logo means nothing, they are aftermarket wheels marketed to infiniti dealers at the time. The "cap" wrench is made to fit the factory installed BBS wheels, and not your aftermarket items.....the locking centercap and required "key" is the tipoff that these are NOT OEM......some of us are old enough to actually remember when these old Q were sitting brand new in dealers showrooms!!!!!!!
