how easy is it to add power locks to a manual lock car...I have a s13, and I found some locks on the internet...they come with some kind of motor, and the handles......are they just plug and play, or is there going to be pain in the a** wiring...

soory if this question sounds stupid, but I have never done anything ike this.......wires for what? power I understand, but can I tap out of the power window power? If you mean from drivers side door to passenger, I don't care if I can control the passenger side from the drivers side....what other wires are there?

well the harness as far as i could see is actullay ran up the side of the car by the foot panel, and up under the dash board but i could be wrong, if thats the correct connector... anyhow ill end up taking the connectors out an wiring them into my non options car so i can connect them the right way an not worry about shorts and what not.

dont have power windows or door locks, but my car alarm has the option so I added them in

just ran cable from the alarm relays to through the fender area wiring ports and into the door.. works like a charm, and unless you look under the steering column, it all looks clean ;)

you coud set up the doorlock system with only two wires going into each door if you use an actuator that works based on polarity. I used this with my alarm when I had my S13. If you wanted a switch, you can simplify it by mounting the switch in the center. The hardest part for me was running the wires to the door. Anything to minimize that will probably make it easier. The rest will just be relays and wiring.

If you have the doors, then it might work, not sure on S13s though. You would still need the door lock timer and add any fuses/relays neccessary to make it work. Since you have the doors, you could do all your own wiring anyway, tying into the windows won't work because the windows are ignition powered, not constant. Just use a standard SPST relay, and use the switch to trigger it. I'd draw a diagram but I'm tired.
