lock and ignition probs

for some reason the driver side door lock does not unlock with a key i always have to go through the passenger and unlock the drivers side that way...but that's really not a big issue for me, what is, is that the ignition will turn with just about anything....a screwdriver, housekey, other people's car keys, fake nails, pen caps(if they hold up)....it's kind of a big concern knowing that someone could walk up with their keys and drive away with my car...does anyone know how to fix this or how much it would cost for the new part @ a dealership...thanks

mine does that too, but if no one knows about it and cant open the doors, dont wory about it. i know nissan doesnt keep the key profile after 10 years so you would probobly have to get a locksmith to to it = $$$$.

all of our keys & locks are really worn out. and nissan didnt keep track of keycodes until 1994.. so unless you have a keycode... call a lock smith or buy new locks.

Most any 240 key will open any other 240.

if you're lucky, like me, you might still have the key code in your glovebox.

my suggestion is that if you're really worried about it, you can find all new key systems (doors, trunk, and ignition) on ebay for around $150 or so

Yes, or so they tell me...Why dont you email them and find out? They got back to me within 24hrs, just like the website says.
