Follow the top hose from the radiator. Lots of posts in Infiniti Online Mechanic on this topic.

If you look at LC14 in your FSM you will see the the output of rad feeds the thermostat cover.

There is a TAB on the t-stat cover. Note the location of this and make sure you put it back on the way it was. Or else the 3 bolts will not line up.

But this is only if you end up replacing the top radiator hose. If not, then no worries.

Replaced my thermo today. Subsequently, after antifreeze spilled into the valley under the plenum, I discovered that I have (had) a freaken mouse nest in said valley! No kidding, footprints and everything. So I had to partially remove my plenum to remove the non rent paying tenant. I sucked all of it out with a hose attached to a wet dry vac. Nasty stuff. If you every have a strange smell in your Q, grab a flashlight and a weapon, and take a look in the valley. You might make a new friend!

How much of your engine wiring and tubing did Mrs. Mouse chew up to make her nest? We had a member last year that had the same thing happen with a family of mice and it caused him lots of grief. Good luck.
