With the help of http://www.vbxmaxima.8m.com I was able to diagnose the reason for my check engine light coming on. According to the ECU decoder the "Front Left Heated O2 Sensor" is bad. Can anyone help me determine the location of this sensor in my 1997 Nissan Maxima.

Auto Parts stores identify this part by it's location in relation to the catalytic converter...located before or after.

Also, do any websites offer online engine diagrams like what would be found in a chilton or haynes?

Thanks.

Don't need it for the 90! I just replaced mine and I have the 90 also. Standing on the side of the car looking at the plug wires--below the plug wires is a metal sheilding--if you follow the sheilding down and towards the firewall you will see what kind of looks like a spark plug with a small thin wire coming off of it. That is your o2 sensor--and the only one in the 90 240. I may be able to find pictures if you want!

PS. Make sure you check out my reply about the PCV valve you asked about on that other post. The other info someone gave was incorrect.

I got mine at a local auto parts store with the connector (which is the better way to buy it) for $32. So maybe $50 for you seeing as you are in Canada.

PS. Sorry about your Blue Jays! The Rays don't want to lose to them!! (I live 2 miles from the Devil Rays stadium!!)
