Okay, this sounds like a really stupid question, but under the glove box, which one is the evaporator core?

I'm in the middle of my a/c fix, so I figured I'd better find the expansion valve. I pulled the glove box today and was looking at what looked to be two black boxes and a white box. I found the white one to be the blower motor, and the black box next to it help what I thought was the evaporator core. Am I correct?

Thanks NISTECH.

So it looks like the first black box on the right (the one with the core) has the expansion valve in it. Any tips on how to get it out and replace it once the system is flushed?

the box is held in by like 4 10mm bolts remove those disconnect the evap lines from the lines into the firwall. then pull your box out. then you can remove the case covers to get to it.

Empty system.

So I disconnect them on the engine side of the firewall? Or are there connections on the inside?

yea just unbolt them where the huge line nut is right outside the firewall in the engine compartment. then the pipes sticking through come out with the evap.
