Locating Satalite Radio ID number

I bought a pre-owned M35 that came with Sataite radio (Sirius). The subscription was active when I bought the car, so I just let it go. It looks like the subscription expired becasuse now the car tells me to call Sirius. But here is my problem: When I give Sirius my VIN # to activate service they say it doesnt match anything on their records. How do I locate the ID # for my car's Sirius unit? Without it....I cannot activate my subscription.

From the RADIO screen, tune to chanel 1 or 0. The ID will be displayed on the screen.

...I think thats how I found it.
