I had my 2007 M45 at the dealer for a fuel system and "auto-up" window switch repair and I got a loaner overnight. It was an 06 G35X.

That car moved!! It appeared faster with more tourque than my M. I think in 06 it still had the 280 horsepower instead of the 306 it has now. For a loaner that has probably gotten beaten on it really was fast.

Of course it was nowhere near as luxurious or well appointed as the M, but it was nice car.

I did get kind of a scare with it though. I was exiting on the ramp to the dealer and the right driver's side tire BLEW OUT big time. The car was riding on the rim by the time I got to the top of the ramp.

I was only two blocks from the dealer. I decided to stop and see if they wanted to come and tow it in since I was guessing they didn't want me driving on the rim. They told me just to drive it in on the rim though.

When I was buying my M35 , I went back and forth between the M and the G35. The G35 is a rocket and pulls you back in the seat when punched. The M35 pulled me in when I saw the tech package and the aero kit. I wish I had both cars in my driveway.

I had G35 for a loaner and took it for a run and man it is fast. Got it sideways that night. Ohhh nice but cheaply made. I would like it for a DD and 4dr track car.

I have an 08 M35 with Stillen exhaust and Injen Cold Air kit. I also have a 2006 G35. The G35 is noticeably faster, although i never lined them up. I also drove a 2007 G35, and that one seemed faster than both.

The G seems to be quite a bit faster because the M is a much more refined ride. You "feel" the speed a lot more in the G because everything moves around you. I had an 05 6MT and it moved that's for sure, but so does my M. I'll take the .1 second slower quarter mile and the ride of the M over the G any day. Of course all this is talking about the G35, not the G37.

i actually fell in love with the g35x when i had it as a loaner car. its more of a driver foused car and the steering wheel was thick which provided a great feel to the wheel. it takes off like a rocket pinning you back into youe seat with the engine revving to 7500rpm. wonderful car wouldnt mind owning one.
