Load sensing valve leaking from rubber plug? in the middle of the three line fittings. can anyone identify this plug? Can it be adjusted? Why have a rubber plug in a high pressure system. my brakes are leaking badly.

That rust doesn't look very good.

That doesn't look like the load sensing valve (at least from the photo's angle), where is this on the vehicle? See [urlhttp://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/QX4/1997_QX4/br.pdf]BR-7 of the factory service manual[/url] for a diagram of the LSV.

This is in fact the load sensing valve located just above the rear axle, a family member is having the exact same problem. When I touched this rubber plug it fell out and bounced around on my driveway. I picked it up and it looks like a black round eraser from the end of a pencil. I grabbed some pliers and pushed it back into place as hard as I could. Needless to say it's still leaking quite badly. I'm planning to try to fill the hole with jb weld, if that doesn't work I'll try to tap the hole and plug it with a screw. All the replacement parts I've seen do not have this rubber plug, in fact the hole has been eliminated from the design. FYI, owner was quoted $1,000 to repair this.
