my lm-1 is on the way and i will start tuning next week. i have a few questions.

1. when finding a/f ratios at idle, do you just start the car up and get a base reading and then start leaning it out with the safc?2. do i just increase the rpm's to say 1500, 2000, 2500.... and adjust the safc to get a good base setting? and what should a/f be at around this level with no load on the engine just revving.3. should all my LOW maps on the SAFC be fore off boost driving and HIGH maps be for on boost driving? and whats a good throttle % for low throttle and high throttle? mine are currently 20% low and 40% high.4. how do you set the NE points. just increase the rpm's range as the NE points go up? say NE1 is 800, NE2 is 1400, NE 3 is 2000? any reccomendations there?5. when doing my on boost tuning should i ease into boost and watch the a/f ratios and if they get to lean just back off, or just start out really rich and lean out later? with my 460's cut down to -34 @ 800 rpm's and it just goes down more and more as the rpm's go up. -33, -32, -31, -30 ect...6. i will be using a friend with a laptop while tuning and he will watch a/f while i drive, what should a/f be around while on boost?

i think that is all for now. i am sure i will have more before i even go out tuning but thanx for any help you can provide.

1. start up car let sensor warm up (45seconds or so) and lean it back or richen it2. that wont work you need load. whatever your have it set at idle should work fine for the entire low map, in closed loop the o2 sensor adjsuts at for idle and cruise to get it right.3. low should be for off boost mainly cruise/light accleration. i use 20% and 40% also4.i had the first blue screen afc with 500rpm increments. my NE points are for every 1000rpms 5. of course start out rich, just get on it and watch the wideband. if you ease into it too much and say make 8psi at 4000rpms in stead of 3500 rpms your results will changed. the stock fpr is 1:1 adds 1psi of fuel pressure for every psi of boost. so the soon you have boost the sooner the fuel pressure shoots up. your numbers will prolly be higher (say maybe -10% to -20%, jsut a guess) since the air from the turbo is goin you will have to take out less fuel to keep it rich6. idle 14.7ish, cruise 14.7ish, boost 11.5-12.0

so say that i have my low map set at -44 across the board. that will be good for just low throttle settings all the way up to 6500 rpm's? and when you say my numbers will be higher such as -10% -20% your meaning on the high throttle map for on boost driving? the lower the % number the richer it will be correct?

hardly ever will you be in low throttle at 6500rpms but i think i just ad 10% after like 4k

the higher the percentage the richer correct. remember though at -30% is greater than -40%. so -30% is richer than -40%

and yes i meant on the HI map for boost

when i was helping jookmasta tune his car. i made an educated guess off the boost and turbo size to get a rough idea of a rich setting that i could go off of first when we rolled on it.

i belive he is running a t3 60trim, 370cc injectors9psi

NA- -27 across the board.

then i guessed:

1k- -22%2k- -10%3k- -5%4k- 0%5k- 0%6k- 0%7k- 0%

i belive we left the safc throttle settings at 20%, 40%. we went about 3\4 throttle, and i saw a 12.9 afr at 4k so i told him to stop. then i made adjustments accordingly where fuel was needed and went at it again.

we were running out of time and should go back to "fine" tune the low throttle map. but 50 mins flew by so quickly.

we were using "willfastbackse's" innovative lm-1 wideband.

i belive the start up instructions are in the box.

if you want to talk to me about it, and get some suggestions, email me [email protected]

ok i got the kit today and went out for a tune drive. at cruising i got 14.7 a/f and at 3/4 throttle i was getting around 12.5 i know thats lean so i will have to rework some settings tomorrow. as for adding more fuel, do i add more fuel in the low throttle map or only hight throttle. i hvae all my low throttle map set to -41% up till 3k then go down one more precent every NE point. so should i only be changin the hi map? i pulled the plugs and they had just a little gray tint to them so it is running leaner. before they were completely black.
