I figured I'd start a new thread about this thing since it looks so interesting. The price is quite a bit less than the Tech Edge IIRC but looks better and has all the features I want. Does anyone have any personal experience with this wideband a/f meter? If I want to use it instead of a dyno w/ wideband for tuning, would it be accurate enough?

Also, what's the best place to mount the wideband sensor? Should I just replace the stock O2 sensor with this (assuming this one can fake a narrowband O2 sensor output to send to the ECU), or is it best to drill a new hole somewhere else?

If you put it too far upstream, it will get to hot and not read correctly. If you put it too far downstream it will get to cold and not read correctly. You could be drilling/welding for days trying to find the "perfect" location, so I'd just stick it in the original hole. Only problem with a standalone is to remember to always turn it on when you start the engine and always turn it off when the engine is off.

If you do decide to make your own fitting, just be sure it is on the top side of the pipe so as not to collect condensation.

You will have to join the LM-1 forum, but its worth it. You want to install the sensor as far back from the turbo as possible, or if your n/a, I don't think it matters.Read through the threads, it addresses those topics.I have one, and have been using it since Aug. with my Tec2, and love it....

I've been running one since they 1st come. I tune customers cars with it also. The only prob I've had is when I leave it turned on and run the battery flat! :)On RB25s we remove the std O2 sensor and screw the LM into that. Never had any problems with oerheating sensors. On Rotaries, we run then in a bung thats mounted on the exhaust under the rear seat. There is a rubber plug that you can remove to route the wiring inside the car.

The sensor is heted and has a driver that runs the heater. If the sensor is to cold, it will heat up! too hot and it will throw an error, though I have yet to experience on in the maonths I have the LM for.

The datalogging is brilliant on it!I recomment you get a Aux #2 expander and inductive rpm pickup.. then go out and road turne till your hearts content. ;)
