I need some help and am willing to pay for your time. I need help installing my 300zx brakes on my S13. This includes:-Calipers-Rotors (need to be drilled for 4 lug) (F/R)-Master cylinder (Nabco)-Stainless Lines (F/R)-Pads (F/R)-BleedingI also have a set of Tein inner/outer tie rods that need to be installed. I don't feel confident with bleeding the brakes, drilling the rotors for a 4 lug application, or installing the tie rods plus I don't get much time. I am a college student and don't have much money, so at the moment I could only offer $150 but I figure it is a morning/afternoon job for someone who knows what they are doing so $20/hour doesn't seem too bad. I will also supply food and drinks and am more than willing to lend a hand as long as I'm not in your way. If you want, I could also trade Nismo motor mounts (no trans mount) plus $50. You would need to be somewhere in Chicagoland as well. Thanks.

I'd be willing to help, but I don't think I can install all that myself.

Get the rotors drilled out by a machine shop, shouldn't cost more than $50. I would help but I'm about 2 hours away. That sounds like a solid 6 hours if bolts don't break and nothing goes wrong.

like 574-240sx says, get them drilled to a 4 lug, i could install all of that with a little help though, tie ends also need boots, if yours are old and ready to disintegrate ... but like 574-240sx says, should be able to finish it in a good 6hours, two guys, i am in hanover park, which i dont think is too far from here, i do have a garage (aunts house), only problem is i am off from work on mondays... and mondays only, so if u are ready hit me up, will work something out

Well, like I said, I figured around 6-7 hours which is between about $21-25 cash plus food. I really just don't have $350-$450 to spend at a shop plus the alignment. However, I've got around $250 so that should cover someone's time plus my alignment. I appreciate your responses and if you know anyone interested, let me know. I'm not retarded when it comes to working on my car, but if I feel unsure, I know when to ask for help.

Hmmm...that might work, but I work on Mondays. I still need to finish preping my calipers (sanding/painting) which should be done by this weekend. I'll see if I can get off on an upcoming Monday and I'll let you know. Otherwise weekends work for me. Oh, and I know about the dust boots, but have yet to get them. Thanks for the reminder.

How far is Bolingbrook from Buffalo Grove/Arlington Heights? New to town but I can pretty much do your whole brake upgrade with much a of a problem but I drive a piece of crap that I don't really trust to go long distances...

Another thing, if you're planning on doing the big calipers in the rear, do you have whatever ebrake hardware is necessary too?

Sorry to mislead, but I actually moved up to Northside (near Drivers Image). It's no big deal though, the car is mobile if we can work on it elsewhere. Making a small meet out of this would be fun too. I would still provide food and beverages, but I will also insist that if only few show up to help that I pay them. I appreciate you guys wanting to help and I know the NICO community is a group of great guys, but it would be the least I could do. I am open on Saturday morning/afternoon, but if we want to get a couple of us together than maybe we should do it the following Saturday. If we finish by 4:00P.M. we could even roll out to the weekly JGTCA meet in Des Plaines which I've heard is supposed to be fun. Just a few ideas. I will still make the offer though that if someone wants to commit themselves to the job and is fully capable of handling it - $150 your way. Thanks for all the input and let me know what you all think.

A Saturday sounds good to me for a mini meet. Beer and some food is all you'll probably need. I'd seriously get the rotors professionally drilled before hand though, and are we doing the rear calipers too?

Also, does anyone know of any high traffic local auto enthusiast forums? Chicago Velocity is kinda slow...

No rear calipers, just pads, rotors, and lines. We can work at my house if you all want. I don't have a garage or many tools, but I have a parking area and since I own the building, we have up to four spots to use so there is plenty of room. I am trying to set something up with a friend who lives in Berwyn. He has tools and a garage plus he's working on his own project of swapping a DET into his G20. Otherwise if someone wants to host where they feel comfortable working and have tools, that would be cool too. Let me know. Also, did anyone have any interest on going to that meet afterward. Check it out on clubfr.net. It's in the forums under the meet section titled JGTCA... Looks like fun. I tried to go this past Saturday but got wrapped up in something else. It would be cool to rep though with all of the Supras, RX-7's, etc. Let me know what you all think. Who is available this weekend? Next weekend?

Vegas huh. Sounds like more fun than putting brakes on an S13. But keep checking because maybe we'll do it next weekend. Your over in Roger's Park, I'm near Lincolnwood Mall (Devon and McCormick) if you're familiar. Thanks for checking back.

Update: I will be working on completing the painting and prep work this week for the calipers. I will also get the other parts that I'm missing (tie rod boots/ brake fluid). Can we set the official "Help Me Install My Brakes and Tie Rods Chicago" meet for Saturday the 24th? Who can make it? I would like to make sure there is at least one person who has done this install before or is more than capable of doing it present. Like I said earlier food and drinks are still on me and maybe I'll even have mini raffle for Nismo motormounts (incentive for coming out). Let me know.
