I bought a Garrett T04 Turbo today for 75$ I think it was recently rebuilt by AiResearch because it has it wrote on the turbo houseing and it has a rebuilt tag. The turbine intake side is marked A/R .60. The Garrett part number on the back is 409760-9002. The turbo is an external wastegate and has no shaft play. My question is on the back there is no bolt holes to mount a downpipe. How will I mount my down pipe? Also what is the Garrett homepage so I can find out the specs on this turbo? Thanks

It depends on the type of flange that came on the exhaust housing, it could be a band clamp type. Do you have a picture?

Yeah I think it uses a band clamp now I just have to find a downpipe with a bandclamp. I looked around at some ka-t picks and I seen a couple with the clamps.

You'll probably have to buy the flange and weld up a custom down pipe, or have a shop do it. Its not hard if you can weld.

Make sure you have a LOT of turbo to master brake cylinder clearance, especially with a T04 turbo and that type of downpipe to turbo clamp.

I thought about welding a short 2 1/2 inch to 3in pipe to the exhaust side with a 3 bolt exhaust flange and the do the same for the rest of the downpipe. Yeah I know how to weld have a couple of tigs. Thanks

To rotate the exhaust side all I have to do is take out the 6 bolts on the turbine side an spin it right? Right now it looks like it is set up for a side mount. Also I need a little help with the turbo size as I said earlier it is a A/R .60 well I looked on the inside of the exhaust flange and it says 1.32. I think this will give me real bad turbo lag right? Is it to big for my car? How can I fix this without getting ride of the turboThanks

thumbs up if it's a V-band and you have the clearance to keep it.

I'll give you $80 for it. Thats $5 instant profit.

JK, good luck making it fit.

Seems like KA-T's are taking over! Lots of guys installing turbos lately. Good stuff

Ever since I bought mine I have been planning to go turbo I have a cleaned up block at the house waiting on pistions. I haven't had the money for a turbo but got this one on a good deal. I'm going to switch out the turbine side to a T3 .70 trim hopefully.
