its a hatch i wanted to paint the hubcaps too but instead did just the nissan logo. there is like a forbidden rule not to paint your hubcaps. lol i did it on my old car and lets just say it gets looks but not the good ones. lol right now im working on creating a mesh grill similar to the versaspeed grille. next weekend im putting in the tanabe springs and after i get married ill get some wheels

Just making sure but I kinda figured because of the newer hub caps. Mine's a 2010 as well but it's a 1.6 sedan, I've had mine since march. Is yours auto or manual?

Uts a manual. The S model 1.8 manual windows locks. Got a great deal on it and the quality is excellent for a car around $13K

Looks good, I have a 2010 Super Black Hatchback and considering new wheels but the red really pops with the black. What kind of paint did you use? Did you remove the wheels to paint and what did you do to prep the area to paint?

You can buy paint at a local auto store. I recommend "Dupli-color"

For my engine I used "Dupli-color Engine Enamel" and then for my calipers/drums I used "Dupli-color Caliper Paint" and I used a Caliper Cleaner to prep that area.

You want to give a couple of lights coats, followed by a wet coat; and then it's up to you if you want to use a clear coat. I did just to protect everything from the salt/winter and rock chips.

I took each wheel off and sanded with a 320 grit then cleaned that off and used a deck of cards around the wheel to keep paint off the tire. Taped the stem. Did couple coats of primer and then red as many coats till it looked good. I used the wallmart brand paint

Mine's 5 speed, and sometimes a couple of friends ask why the cranky windows, but not really, my windows are dark-as-hell, they're usually up and Im usually riding alone so no one really knows.

My car is silver and I do get a few people asking why the black mirrors and door handles, and most older people(family members) are like "Nice car but what happened to your hub caps?" Im like they were stolen. :lolling:

Thanks, and I dont know many details about the differences between 07-09 and 2010 but someone told me 2010 1.6L(base model) came with 07-09 grilles and when I got my Versa I was still a newbe so I never asked about it.

Thanks, yours does too. :dblthumb:

I originally wanted a black sedan but they only had black hatchbacks...I would've gotten one but I wanted something fun to drive and they were all autos and CVTs. :frown:

You just gave me a good idea! Thanks!!!

I bought a set of black aftermarket hub caps and they look good but I have to keep those black rims polished underneath or they look kinda dorky up close.

I wonder if this would fly. Problem is a lot more of the rim is exposed so it might not be a good idea. However if I match the blue paint of the car up with the rim it might look pretty sharp.
