Just recently I had to start depressing the little red button on my shifter before I can put my car in gear, how do I change this so I can just go? This is real annyoying.

Your brake switch might not be working, therefore not unlocking the shifter. Check to see if your brake lights work.

sure enough, no brake lights. Where is the brake light switch? Is it easy to replace?

I connected a plug that runs on the under side of my trunk lid the other day. I dont have a third brake light because the spoiler was removed. Is that what the plug is for? I just tried to reconnect it and my brake lights still dont work.

the brake light switch is on your brake pedal assembly, its not hard to replace

It turned out to just be a blown fuse thank god. It was a little hard to diagnose at 30 in the morning but everything seems to be ok now. Thanks everybody, false alarm.
