So I talked to the original owner of the CA I bought last year, and he brought it to my attention that he had run it for 250 miles with little to no oil!!!! Wonderful right?

So anyone know what I should do to see if the engine is fubar? Me and a friend had some ideas but I need some more input. We are going to do a compression test, and I want to take the valve covers and oil pan off and kinda look around for metal shavings or anything of the sort. What else should I look for?(maybe warpage) I wish there was an easier way to check out the bearings as well but I'll just have to guess with those as I'm not going to disassemble it. Also I might need a maf, but I'm waiting to hear back from my friend if he's got a spare. Thanks for the help!

first if you are going to remove the oil pan.......... I remember reading that is pretty simple to swap out the bearings from there and people have done them w/o pulling the motor. idk I havent had to......

second with a lack of oil there are several things that might be checked... first would be me wonder WHY it had no oil..... maybe the turbo is toast.... w/o oil it could might have gotten eaten to so that may not actually be your cause just a by product.

do a compression and leak down test(before taking anything apart too much)

then go from there.

Thanks Gabby you rock I'm going to do some searching and see what I can find about replacing the bearings, because if it can be done I may as well do it! You might be right about the turbo because when I bought it from him it had NO turbo(the original ca turbo had been removed) So I have a newer SR T25g on it so hopefully no more oil eating, or at least not too bad. I am going to do the compression test for sure. Another question is if I doo doo the bearings should I use the oem size? And if I do swap them out it won't mess anything up will it? (i mean as long as I put them in properly and such) I just think it would be a great idea to replace them anyways. I was like dude how could you go 250 miles and not realize you were pretty much out of oil?!??!?!?! I check mine every time I get gas so like every 80+- miles not freaking 250 lol. I'm just glad there was enough in there to not seize it!
