im new to this site but i just bought the third 240 i own now.hello everyone, ill start with my first question.i not to long ago made a 3'' short ram intake for my 92 vert.could feel a nice difference in power(she needs all she can get) till what im assuming the maf caught up with it.felt ike the ecu was pulling like 75hp worth of timing.stock setup is now on and running good again.now i no an air fuel converter plays with that maf so would one alter the signal enough to accept the new intake and thin some that darn fuel down.i have 3'' cbe and no egr and thats it.other than suspention thats it.also would a simple 8psi turbo kit be to much at 150k.i fabricate for a living so the system would be minamal in price.but im happy to be back :bowrofl: thanks evreyone.

I'm confused too

If you can make 75hp on timing alone, your a genius. And if your engine is healthy you can boost it mildly no problem.

i think hes saying he wants to use a safc to tune for a different maf that will work better with his intake.

OutToWin I think he said with his custom intake it felt like his motor was putting out 75 hp less. Honestly OP, I made myself a custom intake and it didn't affect my performance in a negative way what so every. You probably have a vacuum leak or maybe you put your MAF too close to the throttle body. You shouldn't need an AFC just for a custom intake. Although I would look into getting one since you did emissions removal and you are probably running super rich. As for turboing goes. Check out the stickies in the KA-T section.

PS OP, please for god's sake fix your grammar or try a little bit harder.

Send a video of your cai and maf installed and running...I bet the Maf is seeing turbulence causing it to throw codes to the ecu. The filament might be picking up residue also

You are on the right site and the most helpful. It is just hard to understand your situation completely when we barely can understand your writing. Honestly though, check for vacuum leaks or the possibility that your MAF is too close to the TB or receiving some sort of blockage/turbulence.

Go ask this question on Zilvia. They're a lot more understanding and helpful over there haha.
