THis should be stuck somewhere cause it took a bit of digging for me to find.
Anyway when I purchased my Apexi SAFC II for my Redtop SR motor I wired it acourding to the manual supplied with the part. I quickly found that the RPM gauge on the SAFC would go out after a short bit of driving.
After research I found that some not sure what models but some of the SRs had a problem of sending a higher than 5V signal through the ROM wire which would cause the SAFC II to over heat and shut the RPM gauge off.
The solution on my SR ECU I was able to tap the Pin 30 CAS 180* degree wire which sends a signal just like the RPM wire.
It seemed so simple after I found it but this stumped me for a week or so. I thought it was a ground or wire not secure or maybe my SAFC was bad but this was the solution.
