I just got a crappy 240sx. For cheep runns good but has a few problems i'm not to sure how to go about fixing.

1rst my gauge's (rpms, mph, gas take) doesn't lite up. I think it might be a fuse but I don't know were I am looking for that one or what fuse.

2nd when I turn the key its hard to turn the engine over. Then it stays turned over and I have to back off the key a little bit. Sometimes after I have the car started the radio and whippers don't work and when I play with the key a little bit they will come on. Do I need to get a whole new ignition or could there be a little peice broke inside.

Now I could get new stuff for it, but with a dealer it will be way to much. But also I do have a 1990 240sx that just got hit and totaled the car is mint just don't move the front end was smashed into a crab...not my fault side swipped. So the engine and everything on the car is good. How hard is it to change over the ignition? Can anyone help thanks.

Oh this car I am trying to fix is a 1992 240sx fully loaded. The 1990 is basic and has nothing.

gauges: probably a bulb. look for fuse and relay locations in tutorial link in my signature.

ignition: there is the ignition switch which is a electrical switch. it is on opposite side of steering column to where key goes in. it is easy to get out. one small screw. easy to replace. If the problem is cylinder lock where key goes in that is harder to replace.
