anyone know wtf that thing does? its the (i have a 90 hatch if that makes any difference) green box mounted to the inside of the fender on the driverside towards the back of the engine bay. it clicks really loud everytime i'm boosting my high setting on my boost controller (around 1 bar). i can get a picture if anyone needs a reference.

You didnt just get your first electronic boost controller did you?

Isnt that green box an inertia switch or something?

ya, I'm hearing a clicking too, and when my profec b II is set on high it doesnt hold boost right. and that clicking just bothers me. i dunno if its from the greenbox but i know i dont like it

i dont think its an inertia switch because s-13s didnt have air bags, so no inertia switch is needed... it was on my 89 and its on my 93... its not a boost controller bc it was on way before the car even knew what a turbo was... its by the clutch master cylinder inbetween the firewall and the strut tower...

and if your car doesnt hold boost right it might be your bov creeping, try tightening the spring...

lol, i can tell ya what it isnt, but i have no idea what it is...

the clicking is from the solenoid for your boost controller. read the manual where it says "its normal to hear clicking from the solenoid".

And assuming you both have Profec B-II's, you did mount the solenoid using the rubber dampers they gave you, right? I have mine mounted closer to the fender on one of the 2 nuts thats for the original spark coil. with the rubber washers in place its not that loud but i dont even mind it anyway.

about fluctuating boost on high tho that happens to me some, when Im flooring it and let off a little it sounds like the turbo spins up faster. im not sure if its the solenoid bypassing pressure and the turbine is spinning more freely or what... play with your gain in +2% increments and see what happens. My start boost (set gain) is set at something like 11. i forget. its low cuz i have a sidemount but it says ive spiked to 12.7psi before.

Nope. The wiper amplifier is on the passenger side of the engine bay on LHD cars, unless he has a rhd car. Then it would be on the drivers side.

actually the placement of the wiper amp is depending on if the car has ABS or not

Well the little green box is the wiper amp. When looking through the FSM, I forgot to take into account that the wiper motor is on the drivers side in jdm cars, which would put the amp on the passenger side. It's reverse for the US.
