i know nobody round here likes to here this stuff but just for someone that does...

the other night im driving round and 2 new Neon SRT4's pull up beside me and start revving...so i was like what the hell they are gunna wipe my *** anyways. so were reving til the light hits green and take off, off the line i pull them both, 2nd gear im still pulling and as soon as i punched 3rd they started gaining.ended up they both passed me by the middle of 3rd which i was very very impressed with and also to mention, so where they! they beat me but i did well just wanted to share this

A mildly upgraded 240SX beating with 200+ hp, LSD equipped, turbo cars. Haaaa, right.

He only had them in first and second gear. What is BS about that. Most likely they are young and inexperianced drivers and he got the jump on them. Happens all the time.

They are fast cars with good equipment, but they are ugly as hell. I hate neons, but 200+ hp with LSD and FMIC, pretty cool.

Alright, I stand corrected. I'm just a hater. ;)

Seriously though, a friend of mine is selling Dodge's these days. I've been in an SRT-4 with the Stage 2 Mopar kit. That thing is stupid quick. If I were going to buy a front wheel drive car, it would be an SRT-4. Or maybe, a turbo'd, B18C5 Civic coupe. :D

i'm not really suprised, you have a N/A with good low end torque, while they have turbocharged engines (turbo lag)

oh wait, so a brand new car with more power at the wheels than is advertised at the crank, stock LSD, nice big stock FMIC, decent looks, excellent torque output, and 13 second timeslips STOCK all for $17000 is gay? don't hate because you can't keep up;)

believe me the SRT doesn't have much lag on the stock turbo at all, they have a very small turbine housing (that lame *** housing cast into the manifold design) and from the 3 or 4 different ones i've driven/ridden in they are no slouch off the line. there was one at the track that pulled 2.0 60ft's all night long completely stock.

uh, actually guys, its not just low end torque. that torque is good, but without gearing its nothing. thats why the 240 is so good. a 4:10 rear end with almost a 13:1 mechanical eadvantage in 1st and 2nd.. thats gonna get you ahead of a lot of highpower cars. thats one reason the 240 has a ****ty top end.

so it doens't have much lag?I never really drove one, do you think a 240 could stilll beat it off the line?

My 02$

My answer is that they didn't get traction till 3rd.Then they pulled.I know of several lightly modded SRT-4's with over 300hp at the wheels.Quick spool and hella hp.Traction is the only problem.

i like how Phax was the first person to respond and wrote B.S. on there and then 20 others reply and shut him up. the drivers for the srt's were fairly young ( although so am i) out of first gear they were both spinning hard 2nd gear i didnt hear much and then third they had real good traction and swept by..... but it was still fun and im impressed with my 240 even if some people on here wanna flame.
