Well I own a 89' 240sx and yesterday me and my friend wanted to test out a subwoofer. As I left the power wire in top of the washer plastic container my friend picked up the wire and accidently dropped it causing it to touch the strut bolt and grounded it.My battery died but was able to jump start the car.We tried rolling it to start since it was a 5spd and nothing.I drove it for a couple of miles and then I went up a drive way in 2nd gear then the car shut down.We were trying to turn it on for 1hr straight and finally came alive again.I drove it home quickly and all the sudden the lights and everything went off then I threw it in 3rd and car came back on.It did this about two times or three and finally I got home.Turned the car off tried to crank it and nothing. My though was maybe the clamps that hold the wires to the battery poles are bad because of the corrosion.I replaced them anyways today and the ground was too short so i used my brothers Rav4 battery which is smaller in size then the one the car came with. Here's the problem, now the car cranks up and 2seconds after my windhshield wipers go on and then everything starts working.I turn it off and nothing works not even on ACC.Cranks up again and repeats.Any idea?My guess is the battery maybe a bit to weak for the car to operate or maybe alternator? Thanks for the help.
