I was in the process of removing my cylinder head, and realized that there one only 5 cam caps on each cam. The head does not even have a spot to put the last cam cap. The engine is out of a 97 240sx, but all the other heads i've seen have 6 cam caps. Was this somthing they changed for the 97-98 model years?

As far as I know there are 5 caps, and one main cap for each cam, at the front of the engine. I know the 97 up motors had slight changes to the head but, doubt they would remove a set of cam caps.

Yeah, this head has one main cap, and 4 more caps making a total of 5. Just weird, it's the only KA I've seen like that.

Guess I would have to see a picture to understand what you mean. According to fast, there is a difference between the years as far as the head, and caps are line bored, so I cant look them up alone to see how many it says they take.

If you look right at the end there there is not even a spot for the last cam cap. Was this common on late model KA's?
