Hello, I am new here but my quest for information is actually for my little brother. He turned 16 and my mom told me to find him a nice first car as long as it was an AUTO:( and for the price of 6k. Well after looking at alot of Preludes and Civics and Accords I found a lady selling her 1995 Red 240SX with 99k miles on it. Took it to the mechanic and it checked out fine. Paints in great condition as is the interior. Well he picked up the car yesterday and is very happy. Here are my questions because I saw no FAQ and dont know anything about Nissans (Im a DSM guy but didn't want him to fight the unreliability of mitsu) What is the specs on this car? Its the NA auto 95 version. Doesn't say SE on it or anything. What mods can he do? Figured the old combo of I/H/E but didn't know how the Nissan auto transmission holds up. He obviously wants to make the car faster but doesn't have a turbo budget. Any help answering these Qs is much appreciated. (hp and tq numbers as well as 1/4mile) would be nice too, thanks guys and any Qsd you have on DSMs give me a shout.

Depending on who you talk to, car weighs in between 2750-2900 pounds.

I/H/E will net you decent gains, but you'll be spending about 1000 dollars for them.

Suspension upgrades net better gains, as the car handles extremely well in the corners. Course, I don't know how an auto would do as you don't have nearly as much control as a manual...

For reference, not sure if you know or not, it is a RWD car. The engine you have is a KA24DE, dual overhead cam 2.4 litre inline 4. The auto transmission will hold up, but its a dog off the line, I'm not sure what it would run in the quarter mile.

Anything else you'd like to know offhand? Enjoy your day!

Stock auto with that many miles should run about a 16.4
