DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT SYSTEM THAT LITTLE BLACK BOX IS THAT IS PLUGGED INTO THE AIR BOX ON MY '92 240SX I NEED TO KNOW BECAUSE THERE IS EXTENSIVE UNDER THE HOOD WORK GOIN ON AND THAT PART WAS DICARDED ACCIDENTALLY AND NOW THE CAR IDLES LIKE CRAP AND IDK IF THATS THE ISSUE THNX

It's the AIV or PAIR valve. It takes fresh air from your airbox and dumps it in to the exhaust stream to help with emissions at start up and efficiency of the cat, etc.

The reason your car is running like crap is vacuum leak(s). I removed the black box and all it's other connected bits when I installed my Hotshot header and AEM intake.

If you've removed the entire assembly you'll need to cap the hole in the airbox, plug the hole in the exhaust manifold and then cap (I think) two vacuum lines.

Depending on how much of the system was removed, you may not have to cap quite as much stuff. Still, if the "black box' was removed and nothing else was done you'll have a leak.

YA THE HOLE SYSTEM WAS REMOVED EXCEPT FOR THE AIRBOX AND THE INTAKE TUBE OF COARSE, DO U MEAN THOSE TWO REALLY TINY HOSES UNDER THE METAL PART RIGHT AFTER THE BLACK BOX
