So here's a bit of an odd one. My '94 Q has been running almost flawlessly since I got it, but on two occasions now there has been a bit of a weird event. The ABS light will come on, and stay on for a couple days until a day comes when I shut the car off and there's a loud buzzing sound coming from where I believe the master cylinder is.

Interestingly enough, when I disconnect the battery and leave it for a couple hours and reconnect - the problem goes away and the car's back to absolutely normal. The first time this happened it was normal for about eight months, and the second time just happened a couple days ago.

What I wonder is if it has anything to do with the fact I just took it through a touchless car wash with an underbody spray, because I had to take my car out in the snow for once. The next time I started the car after the washing was when the problem popped up.

Anyone have thoughts on this one?

Just did another search, this makes me think it's my ABS relay, seeing earlier postings on the same subject. I trust that sounds about right to others?

Yes, ABS pumps rarely ever fail, rather they start leaking from lack of regular fluid changes...

The relay is likely the cause.
