The issue that comes to mind here is do you trust a bunch of strange guys holding your sr'ed 240 for a week at their disposal? They'll warranty it, but they keep the car for a while, my friend tried to get it fixed... it was cheaper (and mentally safer) just getting a junkyard piece.

The instruction manual is on Greddy's website underneath the "Tech" section on the left side column of the homepage.

The S13's automatic belts have lifetime warranties?

So I can just take the car to a dealer anytime and get them fixed if they break? That rules.

I actually really like the auto belts, this is my first car that's ever had them (I've only ever had S14s and other stuff), but I do worry about them failing because it's one more power thing (the ONLY power thing on my S13, really).

Good to know, anyway.

The thing is, technically, all seat belts from all cars are lifetime warranty. It's required by law or something - some very small fine print. Someone on the boards actually posted the actual thingy that said so. Any dealership that tells you it's going to cost money is wrong.

However, the "loop hole" is that they can keep your car for god knows how long. Also, they could blame it on different parts and try to say it's not the seatbelt mechanism itself that is bad, etc, etc, you know how shady some places can be... Depends on how busy they feel, if they like you or not, etc.

it's not really law. Nissan and mazda, and a bunch of others decided to give this warrantee to dispell potential buyer concerns on future electric failure... at least that's what I think i read.

O, I could be mistaken then. I did read about this stuff a long time ago.

I had first read about seatbelt warranties for other cars, not the 240's. Basically, these were just covered by default for the life of the car - electric or manual (there were some cases where the reg seatbelts stop working correctly - like not locking, etc).

I also read some guy posting about the dealer not being able to find parts to fix the auto belts and replacing the belt system with the OEM non auto ones,,,,,sweetttt!!! If you hate the auto belts this might be a good option...

The motors also have a little allen screw that allows you to move the motor manually in the event that they get stuck in the forward position. I beleive the FSM shows exactly where it is on the motor.
