Not exactly KA-T Related, but me and a friend are thinking of building a liquid-to-air intercooler. Neither of us are geniuses, but at the moment, here's what we are thinking:

1.Total cost of parts will come out to <$150

2. Using a freezer, we could get intake charges down to about 50-70 degrees Farenheit.

Time will tell. Should be fun

Are you going to be drag racing your car when it's turbocharged? Or using it as a daily driver? Liquid to air is pointless when you're a daily driver, as it loses its efficiency (which is very high for a time being) quickly...Air to air can't be beat for day to day driving, long hard rides, and works fine for drag racing too...

Hey man, turbo bricks can be VERY fun cars. I had a Turbo 240 (Volvo 240 Turbo that is =O) for awhile. It was a decently quick car with the mod's it had, exhaust/cam/ported head/timing. It was also more just fun.

my friend has got an NA 240, and turbo 740 and a turbo 760

once he gets another transmission, his 740 should be putting down about 300rwhp :)

No one's knockin on the volvo...I have an 86 Volvo 740 Turbo station wagon (actually my dad's). The boost used to be turned up and it had H20 injection, but then my sisters started driving and all she was detuned accordingly. let's put it this way, I'll take that 740 (even though it's pretty beat up) ANY DAY over our 97 chrysler minivan...Every time I look at the volvo I'm amazed at the technology it has considering its 17 year age...Not that I'm thread-hijacking, or anything :)

The only time the intercooler heats up is while the turbo is being worked (less than 30 secs), not all the time.
