I was down in the garage getting dimensions to fabricate a plexi-glass plate that can be installed/removed easily to put over a part of my bumper to prevent water from getting in during rain (bc I have a cold air intake and the filter is right down there), and I noticed this realllly strange sound. The car was parked, I had driven it about an hour ago in medium heavy rain, and there was this really noticeable, almost loud dripping sound that was definitely coming from a liquid. like drip drup drup drip drip you know how it goes, and it was coming from the rear of the car...I had heard it once before and thought nothing of it, but the car was completely stationary and making this dripping sound that sounded like it was coming from the differential (but I think this sound is impossible from the diff?? plus, there were no leaks anywhere.) When I drove my car that day, it was raining, but I know water woudln't be making sound like that an hour after it was driven, and the first time i heard this sound a while ago, my car was bone dry. Any info? What is this sound coming from!!!! Thanks!Marc

What did it smell like? Were there stains on the floor, and if so, what color?

Maybe its the hose outside of your garage:pface Just trying to cover all options. Next time do an in depth search for this dripping sound and give us more details. We like details.

theres no way to do an in depth dripping sound because I have no idea where its coming from...there are NO leaks on the garage, I can't see any liquid coming from any part of the under belly of the car toward the rear, I just hear that stupid sound, coming from the rear.

No, it's a coupe (95 s14) The weird thing about it, is that I checked uner the car and just looked up at the underbelly for 5 minutes, and could see nothing dripping...

Our cars have 2 compartments on the rear, each to the sides of the back, you can access them by small doors that lead to the light markers and, in the fastback, to the tire change jack.

If you have these compartments, put your hand in there and all the way to the bottom; check all along the bottom of the compartments. If you feel water there, your water drainage holes are clug. I don't remember exactly, but check that area from under the car, you can see the plugs. Push or pull them out, and extract whatever is clugging, in my case I had some cloth and papers in those compartments...which I didn't know will take in water if you drive through heavy rain or pass through a puddle. These things were rotten and in a pulp state which clogged these outlets, I had a lot of water there...some came from the antenna hole, because it doesn't seal like new.

Well, I hope this helps you...good luck.
