My g37 coupe has gone to limp mode (service department name for condition, not mine) where the engine is limited to1500 RPM's. Last time I had it towed to a dealer and they took 5 hours to do diagnostics and reset it, tried to charge me $500+ dollars. I refused to pay and they ended up putting it thru warranty and black listing me. Now it has gone into limp mode again and I can't rev over 1500. Is their a reset code/procedure for this? Has anyone else had this problem?

I have heard about this. Is there anything you could be doing to put it into 'limp' mode? What were you doing just prior to this. Also what year is this G?

In any case since you are under warranty document this extensively and see if there are any lemon laws you may be able to use in the future.

It is a 2008. It likely has something to do with the oil mainenance light. It didn't get reset last oil change because I got it done at a Fast Lube place. Also I use Mobil so I go longer between changes. I am sure their is no problem so I just want to reset the computer then drive it to a mechanic. Thanks

Do you have ANY mods??

How can they possibly try and deny you warranty coverage??

This makes no sense to me at all??

Is there any info. you're overlooking and not sharing??

Document EVERYTHING!

No Mods. I had the daytime running lights hooked up. I bought in the states and the local Canadian dealer has issues with that. Warranty is still in effect here. But dealer said the "limp" problem was the daylight running light hookup which 2 other mechanics proved was done correctly. I can go back for warranty, but no longer trust dealer and closest other Infiniti dealer is 200 miles away, a long "limp". Thanks

Mine didn't get reset either at the local Infiniti dealer. Didn't put into 'limp mode'.

Now about those daylight running lights. When you stated 'hooked up' what was needed to do that to the U.S. model?

Also difference in the speedo?

That sort of thing (running lights) should not be an issue when it comes to warranties. Lights can't cause a car to run like that unless it was an electrical issue. Plus, they proved it was done right so it can no longer be an issue.

You're essentially left with no choice but to go back to the dealer.

There was someone else on here that had some similar issue. I'll see if I can find it.

I lied. This is what I was thinking of, but it was a different situation.

Regarding the Limp Mode, My G has go into that three times. Mainly due to the fact that I installed a TT and everytime I would hit the rev limiter (redline-1st gear) it would go into it. After speaking with the guy who installed my TT he said do the following. First pull over, take the key out of the ignition, wait 30 sec then start car. should go back to normal drive mode. After the third time (limp mode) it stopped even after hitting rev limiter. .

The ECU must have learned my driving bad habbit's as I have not gone into limp mode since, over a year.
