I am planning on replacing my cv axles-165,000 miles- and need to know if the vin number would tell if it has limited slip? It is auto trans...but have noticed some parts show with /without limited slip.....need advice from guys that know about these things! Thanks...Doug in Texas

Well, there's always one way to find out for sure, pop the cover on the diff and check it out to see if it's an LSD or not.

I want to say all I30's came with the VLSD (probably wrong) but one way to check would be the transmission code on the VIN plate in the engine bay. If it does have VLSD, I believe it should have a V in the code like so: RE4F04AV

If my information is correct NONE of the autos came with VLSD. Only the 5 speed touring came with it.

I know my 96 auto didn't come with VLSD. I'm not even sure if an automatic Viscous Limited Slip Transaxle exists.
