After limping along with my perceived Nav system limitations, I thought I'd throw it out there to see what the rest of you think.

While not perfect, the biggest limitation of the system is the fact that one cannot access most functions while the car is moving. Clearly, I understand the litigious intent of this feature, but I would think/hope that Infiniti would consider a modification to this. Example...when my wife is with me, she is in the passenger seat and could safely access the system while the vehicle is moving. I'd like to see a software modification, using the passenger seat airbag sensor (?) to override the Nav system limitation when the sensor detects that someone is present in the front passenger seat.

As it stands now, I sometimes prefer to use my NUVI just for ease of use.

Thoughts?

The NAV as well as almost all audio and HVAC controls can be easily used on the move using voice command. If you read through the voice prompts and take the time to go through the adaptive control learning you will unlock many things that are not accessible through the Control Wheel.

Good Luck, it seems like allot of work but the people I know who use it correctly really appreciate it.

I too have thought of the weight sensor integration but I think that they do not want to mix Airbag control input sensors to audio/visual control units. The airbag system is left off the CAN network for to fully isolate it. They tend to air on the side of caution when it comes to things that may distract drivers.

(not trying to be a smart azz) but if you had searched, you'll see there is easy hack out to bypass this feature.
