Limit of n/a ka24e and why do 91-93 make less power?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

I might be in the market for an s13 but need to know the limit of a ka24e without turbo and no internal work. The most i'll go into it is cam. So ecu, cam, flywheel, cai, headers, exhaust, pullys, electric fan, lightweight driveshaft, highflow cat.. did i forget anything? I know the limit of an n/a ka24de is what 200 crank without internal work?

I think I asked this before but never got an answer. What is different about the 91-93 ka24de vs the 95-98 ka24de? Why do the 95-98 blocks make more power? I get this idea because the 95-98 ka24de makes as much power as the 91-93, but the 91-93 have better cams. Put the 91 cams in a 95 and the 95 engine gets more than 155hp. So what i'm asking is, what's in the 95-98 engines that makes horsepower equal to the 91-93 engines with better cams? put 95 cams in a 91 and i bet the horsepower drops from 155hp, so there has to be something in the 95+ that makes up for the cams.

ahh so a jwt ecu upgrade will add more power to an s13 than s14 because theres more power to unlock in the s13?

more power to unlock? i doubt it.

you tell jwt what modifications have been done to your engine, and they program the ecu for. results will vary.

Uhhhh this is not a zelda game you wont unlock anything and get any prizes. But by getting a jwt ecu, you will be getting more fuel and air intake, your speed governer will be cut you might be able to rev a little freely and maybe a little more, the ecu will also eliminate the retarding of the timing at idle, meaning your car will have more power off the launch because your car will have its timing at around 15 degress for (sohc) and 20 for (dohc), nissan's ecu is set to setback the timing a few degress at idle to make the motor more fuel effecient and to make less carbs. My frien has a jwt ecu and loves it. You have to tell them your mods and and they will configure the ecu to your needs.

I've hears two diff. theories about obdI and II with s14's. I heard that all '95's had the OBDI and '96+ got the OBDII. But, then I heard not to long ago that the early half of '95's in production were OBDI and the later half were OBDII. I've never gotten a true answer.

well i dont know about 240's but the fed govt made from 96 up OBDII but some late 95 cars have OBDII, you can tell by the plug under the dash Look at a 96 and up 240 plug, then look at a 91-94 plug and then compare
