Here's an easy way to find out. Take that carpet trim piece ON THE HATCH (below the glass) off and see if there's a wire running to that light. If there is, it's supposed to work.

Now was that so hard? Besides, why would it just be there for "show?" I've never heard of a fake oem brake light.

welll the nissan 200sx the middle lights on the trunk dont light up and they are just for show :p i just thought i would ask since its late i got a headache and my a** hurts.. but thanks that answered my question mister money eyes awesome avatar guy
