well i just recently got my baby on the road and its running smooth. failed emissions though because of the catback. we had some snow in jersey today buy nothin too serious, so i decided to do a lil slidding with my 240. im really in to drifting but don't know quiet how to do it yet. so at the end of the night while im going side ways on street, my front driver wheel hits the curb. **** man.... and now the tire is gone. but the rim is still good so it was just minor. i was wondering like maintanace with the car, what should i be looking for, what should i be doin , and how ofter should i do and check theses things? thanks for all comments.

Acid on the battery terminals, any rust, clean oil, good timing belt, (clean your engine bay lol) good tires, springs/shocks/struts/coilovers lol hmmmmmmm... check the air filter, coolant...yeah, basic maintenance stuff.

Personally, if I hit a curb and blew a tire, i'd check all front suspension components on the side that took the hit You never know it you bent something out of shape until it breaks sometimes...but then again i'm paranoid about my cars hehe...

Hope that helps!

think you better get your alignment checked. you may have bent something pretty bad if it blew out the tire. i hit a curb during the ice storm a month ago in my accord and the steering is messed up and i didn't even get a flat.

your car should not have failed emissions because of a catback... that is the whole point of being "cat-back". I'd say get your drifting skills down in a big lot before you take them to city streets, that obviosly could have been a lot worse.

if you hit hard enough to take out your tire you may have done some serious damage to your steering, particularly your tie rod, trust me if you bent your tie rod you're looking at atleast a 200 dollar repair bill. just had mine replaced, now I have to get my rear control arms replaced. Check your wheel bearings, and your brakes. Aside from general maintanance, make sure your brakes and tires are always in good condition, something as small as a worn out brake pad could be the all that it takes to get in that accident that totals your car out for good.

i smacked a curb going 10-15 in my neon daily driver about 2 weeks ago. $2500 appraisal. id definately check the undercarriage. i took a quick glance under my car before i brought it in and the whole a-frame was twisted.

I slammed into a curb going about 35, broke my lower control arm in two, bent my strut, broke my tension control rod, TC rod mount, and had to replace the spindle and both tie rods. Managed to get off under $500, including install and alignment. Tire was missing some side wall and needed replaced but held air just fine... Didn't even go flat.

If youre starting to drift the last thing you need is more power. A KA will have enough power to drift just fine whe you're starting out. Don't blame the car if you cant drift, unless it doesn't run.

yea your right because i just went to english town yesterday and before leaving cause it was almost dead there i drifted in the parking lot until i got kicked out. it did pretty good but i realize that i need suspensions, my bro said that the car looked like it wanted to flip over. but it had enough power. that you could say was my first time drifting, now that i did it i know what drifting is, not the sideways into turns or donuts in a parking lot ****...

Good job. Now check tie rod, tc rod, lower control arm, ball joint, hub, possible sway bar and endlinks. You probably need to take it to an alignment shop to tell if you can't by eye.

I had my mechanic tell me what was wrong. We pretty much replaced everything, even though I'm not sure what a sway bar and endlinks are. I replaced everything that was bent or broken... well broken, since everything snapped in half.

Yeah, I hit hard.
