Hi, all.

Well, I took my Q in for some service work today (transmission work ala Dennis's recommendations :)) and the loaner I got is a 2002 G35 - the sedan. I like it one whole heck of a lot already! :D

The car is very nimble; the acceleration is definitely a kick in the pants; and the steering precision is just great. I gotta concentrate a bit more on my driving with that tiny steering wheel though!

I have not had as much fun in a car since I sold my RX-7 and 300ZX Turbo years ago! I think that the G35 sedan or coupe may be in my garage in the future ... possibly sooner rather than later! :D

Forgot to mention the best part ... the dealer did not start my car work in time today, so I get to keep the G35 for another day! :D

Wish it was Friday today ... :(

Which Bay Area dealership are you at? Peninsula? Are you doing the full pan drop and adding synth fluid?

I have my work done at Frontier Infiniti in San Jose (I think they own Peninsula Infiniti too.)

I am doing (had done yesterday actually):

a. Full transmission flush with Mobil 1 synth ATF.b. Pan drop with screen and gasket replacement.c. Second full flush and fill with Mobil 1 synth ATF.

I bought 28 quarts of Mobil 1 ATF from Pep Boys for this work. From what I could tell from posts here, it takes about 14 quarts to do a proper flush and the transmission mechanic at Frontier (Benjie) agreed.

Benjie did the transmission replacement on my Q some months ago. Although he thought I was overdoing it with the two flushes, he said that he would have no problems following my instructions! Good 'Nuff. :) I also liked the fact that he has won four of the last twelve "Technician of the Month" awards at Frontier Infiniti, according to the plaques in the service area.
