Man, the heck with that, after I got my new wheels, I threw one of the factory 7 spokes in the trunk. And the wierd part is it actually fits, if you dont mind a big round lump under the carpet

A can of fix-a-flat will take care of most punctures; it weighs only a few ounces, and is cheap and fast. Definitely not a permanent repair though.

Either way you'll still be gaining weight somehow. I personally don't think it's a good idea.

i usually keep at least one full size wheel ready to go in case.

all i know is my friend went to the mountains and completely balded his tires to the point where u can see both steel breadings and ended up with 2 bubbles on the inner tube...luckily he had a spare and the fact that we were at the top of the mountain. U cant call AAA cause its too far from where we are. my opinion shiet happens be prepared.

i ditched the spare, it is most of the weight back there anyhow, i got some fix-a-flat

however keep in mind that fixaflat is not intended to be used on Z Rated, or high performance tires.

yeah, AAA can be a lifesaver, but sometimes they arn't very reliable. When I had a problem with my first car, I called them and it took 'em 3 hours to get to me. With a few buds, I could have probably pushed the car back to my house in that amount of time. My understanding is that once anything happens to a Z-rated tire that it is basically shot, aka it is not rated for high speed anymore. I had a nail in one of mine, but I just fixed it, I just won't go 160 on it anymore .

I keep a steelie that I picked up for drift days at all times...

the treads are worn out but good enough to get me home in a bind...

It's a good idea to have a spare... you dont need to have no weight when you are driving daily.. that is just stupid thinking..

on the track yes, but for daily drive? what's another 20lbs???

i diched my spare and went with the cell phone can of fix-a-flat and AAA gold after i got my new 17x10.5 rims. untill one night i was driving from my girlfrinds house out in the country and i got a falt ran over some steel and it put a 6 inch long gash in the tread so my can of fix a flat didn't help and my cell phone couldn't find a signel even being only about 400 yards for a tower so i couldn't get AAA. so i had to walk for about 10 miles till i got my cell to get a signale then i called my girlfreind and had her pick me up. i lorned a leson that night keep a sapre and take it out when you get to the track.

Yeah, Spares are just unnecessary weight in the back that will only slow you down. Yeah the triple As and the cell phone is more than enough.........

Until you try to drift a corner through a mountain pass and end up slashing both tires.
