One of our sponsors, RB performance, just had 100 lightweight chromoly flywheels made for the CA18. Just $200 SHIPPED a pop. You guys should definitely check them out, you don't get deals like this often.

Sorry for the stupid question, but how much difference would a lightened flywheel make on a mildly modified CA?

Thanks,

Dude they are chromoly...... Are you throwing like 500+ hp at it????Should hold up fine. (anything below 480 should be fine)

(though not to mention it but it would be nice to know what the thickness of the moly is at those points)

It's not aluminum. They'll be fine for 95% of the CA population.

If I didn't already have a JUN on the motor now and a Tomei chilling in the garage, I'd be on this like a fat kid on a twinkie!

I thought it was a stock modified flywheel, my apologies.

those holes still have me weary, they are populated closely near all of the stress no?

I was going to comment on those holes as well; they scare me. I wish they weren't there because I don't want to seem ungrateful that someone is making stuff for our engines but I am concerned.

Would one of our sponsors really be trying to sell us low-quality parts though? Wouldn't that be blasphemous, and be likely to get them killed at the hands of an angry mob?

No, but every new product has a proving period. I'm betting theres some forums outside of the US that people have used this piece already and have critiqued it. I think this flywheel looks solid despite the holes, I very well may pick one up.

Guys, Google Image "lightweight flywheel" and look at the pictures.

I'd say a good 40-60% of the flywheels pictured in the first few pages are of a similar construction.

IDK anything about this product, and I haven't used it, so I can't stand behind it.

But I will say that compared to other flywheels out there (non-nissan) it looks fine to me.

At any rate it reminds me of my favorite classic mag wheel.

My dad went to high school with a guy that burnt his car and the school shop down because he was welding on his car with the magnesium wheels still on it and managed to catch them on fire.

Arent these those XTD flywheels sold on ebay.I mean the design is exactly the same, supposed weight is the same. And price is the same.Does anyone have any experience with these *new* flywheels.

As for the XTDs, honda guys say they get the job done fine.

I can get JUN and Cusco flywheels for the CA18 off the shelf for less than three hundo, so these would have to be really well made for me not to go with one of the proven brands.
