Flex-a-lite now makes lexan based light weight windows! But non are available for our application just yet.... So i spoke to them directly and they agreed to manufacture some windows for our beloved community members! The only other company that i found that sold these windows for our cars is HPI located in japan, and they cost an arm and a leg so i figured a lot of you would be interested in windows made by a reputable US company.

Ok so they are asking me to get at least 10, the more people the cheaper the final price, 89-93 Hatchback owners who would purchase FLEXITE windows for their car. I DO NOT have prices just yet i need to know how many people would more than likely purchase some first.

So if you are interested and most likely have the funds please let me know which windows you would want to purchase and also tell me what kind of 240 you have, preferably hatchback S13s but if a lot of people want some for their coupes or S14s we can do that too!

Some more info: all windows retain factory shape and curvature, they are more scratch resistant than lexan, and are made out of NHRA approved material. Windows are wrapped in peel off film until ready to install.

About the price, the best I can do right now is tell you that they are cheaper than HPI (Hatch$360, Windshield$270, Door windows$145 plus across-the-pacific-ocean-shipping) I will get actual prices or comparisons as soon as possible.

Sorry I don't think the rear quarter windows will be made. If enough people want them they would probably not have the painted black border and the 240sx or 180sx on em....

I should get some actually prices within the next few days.:)Let me know which windows you guys want!

I might be interested in a windshield, mine is cracked and needs to be replaced before I register the car. I'm not gonna mess with that if insurance will cover the costs, but if I have to pay it myself I might consider. Obviously I need a price and more information though. How much will it cost to ship to 06457? Is installation the same as regular glass? You can use the same glue/sealant, etc? Is it DOT approved, etc, etc, etc... Email me when you find out more.

I need a new winshield also. Only if it could be installed by a prof. glass installer in the same fashon.

if you get the side windows can they still be used or do they have to be bolted shut as in some applications? Depending on price i might do the whole way around eventualy.

I don't have accounts there, if someone could post links on some other forums it would be cool, and if we get more people the final price would be cheaper.

I'm pretty certain they are DOT approved but i'll double check on that.

Front windshield is 3/16" the rest is 1/8"

Mounting clips probably need to be fabricated for screwing or riveting in place. I'm sure any good auto window place can put them in for you one way or another.

well if you get all the information squared away make a post with the definitive.

Some of us may have to purchase later cause of funds reasons or I suppose I could do one at a time maybe hatch first since its probably the heaviest.

I had a thought today at work. Could they mold the windows with tinted lexan? That would be hella sweet.. No worries about bubbles or peeling. and that would solve the B-pillar window problem.

240SX and 180SX are Nissan design copyrights... it would be illegal for them to reproduce them w/o Nissan's consent.

Ok i finally got some prices, rear hatch window $250 possibly less, windshiled ~190, door windows ~105. Please mail me but only if you are serious about buying and let me know which windows and what kind of car you have ([email protected]). Also mail me if you are willing to donate some glass windows to me so that i can send them in and they can make a mold, i need two of every window. Otherwise keep posting and i'll try to answer all your questions. Will probably make quarter glass windows if enough people are interested.

I don't think it is possible to keep your rear defrosters if you want to change the window to flexite.

I'll see if I can get the tinting.

It would be awesome if some of you guys could post in some other forums and let them know about this deal :)

I work with lexan in our lab. It has really good optical qualities, but it scratches very easily. Imagine every rock that does nothing to your glass window, now it will cause a scratch. Add up a few thousand miles, highway or not, and you have a crappy window with tons of scratches.

Nascar uses lexan windshields, so they are usable, I just question the long term use of them.

Mabye this is a little harder than regular lexan?? Hopefully??
